Title: Director of Hardware and Manufacturing Operation
Position Overview:
We are seeking an accomplished leader to drive the strategic and operational dimensions of hardware design and manufacturing. This pivotal role involves aligning manufacturing processes with strategic objectives, facilitating cross-functional collaboration, and ensuring the efficient delivery of projects. The successful candidate will demonstrate proficiency in managing teams, budgets, and operational performance while fostering partnerships with third-party vendors and ensuring compliance with industry certifications. This position requires regular travel within the United States and participation in executive-level reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a high-performing team in engineering and manufacturing operations.
- Validate engineering designs and oversee the qualification process.
- Utilize engineering enterprise software for managing Bills of Materials (BOMs), Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), and documentation.
- Maintain and manage engineering lab environments and equipment.
- Coordinate the integration of new products into manufacturing and procurement workflows.
- Provide technical guidance to contract manufacturers.
- Monitor inventory levels and manage purchasing requirements effectively.
- Conduct inventory cycle counts and participate in annual audits.
- Support the design, installation, and servicing of the complete product suite.
- Engage in failure analysis from manufacturing through to end-user experience.
- Manage product lifecycle to anticipate and address end-of-life challenges.
- Complete training and certification for shipping dangerous goods.
- Oversee field service inventory and logistics needs.
- Implement and enhance project deliverables, schedules, and budgets.
- Develop and present detailed reports to communicate project status and outcomes.
- Ensure project team alignment with organizational strategic goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
- Exceptional time management and multitasking abilities.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail and reliability.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and adapt swiftly to new challenges.
- Proficiency in secure enterprise network environments and Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Capability to work remotely as required.
Executive Reporting and Communication:
- Prepare and deliver quarterly operational reviews to management, outlining performance metrics, staffing, financials, risks, and improvement initiatives.
- Serve as a key liaison between department operations and U.S.-based leadership.
- Identify and communicate operational, staffing, or financial issues, offering actionable solutions.
Compensation
125-175k per year
